We worked with Trattoria by Mercatto, a traditional Italian restaurant located in the heart of Toronto’s largest shopping destination, Toronto Eaton Centre, on a social media blogger program to create an afternoon affair with antipasti and cocktails that reflected authentic Italian cuisine.
We invited 11 bloggers to come #ToTheCity and escape the hustle and bustle by participating in a TwEAT-up using the hashtag #TrattTEC and experience love at first taste!
We used journalist, author, and cooking instructor, Patricia Wells’ meaning of Trattoria to best describe the #TrattTEC event and restaurant alone, “a bustling eatery in the heart of Florence or a tiny alcove tucked away in a side street in Venice, the Trattoria is where Italians go for big flavours, great friendships, good times.”
EatnMingle couldn’t be more excited, “conveniently located in the [Toronto] Eaton Centre, it’s like an instant portal to Italy! Can’t beat an instant getaway #TrattTEC #ToTheCity.” (EatnMingle’s event recap here)
The Roaming Life shares their thoughts from the event, “I think my favourite part was socializing with fellow Toronto Foodie Bloggers, its really fun having everyone taking photos of their food and share the same reflex to #TweetBeforeYouEat!” (The Roaming Life’s event recap here)
Phones were flashing, and tweets were buzzing as bloggers caught Chef Doug Neigel speak to the Italian dishes including Nonna’s Little Secret cocktail, and Frutti Di Mare.
Abbey’s Kitchen, Mary Tang, Fat Girl Food Squad, Foodies Inked, Gracie Carrol, The Roaming Life, Fashion Food Flare, Eat N Mingle, Foodaholic, The Girls on Bloor, and Best Of Toronto TwEATed their hearts out, and raised a glass to a delicious meal and great company.
Our bloggers brought the fashion and food community together with real-time conversations on their social media channels, like Twitter and Instagram. From that Sunday, alone the #TrattTEC hashtag received over 261,690 impressions and a reach of 78,105 on Instagram.
