Top 10 Buzzworthy B&B Campaigns of 2016

The buzz never ends at B&B headquarters. From January to December, each day brings us new opportunities, ideas and challenges as we work on amazing programs with clients throughout the years. From field trips to blogger tours, Miami memories to momentous marketing campaigns, these are just some of our most buzzworthy campaigns of 2016.

1. Canola Eat Well Chef Farm Retreat

We gathered a group of Toronto chefs (Rory White, Rob Bragagnolo, Eric Baxter, Stefan Gadit, Andres Marquez, Brent Maxwell, Nuit Regular, Jeff Regular, Joanna Sable & Mairlyn Smith) and brought them out to Andrews’ Scenic Acres and Harvest Goodies to pick asparagus and learn about Canola as they indulged in a BBQ feast cooked up by Fidel Gastro’s Matt Basile. Farms and chefs and Canola, oh my!

To celebrate the culinary talent Toronto has to offer, Samuel Adams partnered with 6 influential Toronto Chefs to be dubbed the “Chef 6-Pack;” Langdon Hall’s Jason Bangerter, Piano Piano’s Victor Barry, Cheese Boutique’s Afrim Pristine, Magna Golf Course’s Jonathan Goodyear, Campagnolo’s Craig Harding and FLOCK’s Cory Vitiello. Each chef created a Samuel Adams-inspired artisan product using the flagship brew, Boston Lager. To wrap-up the program, we flew the 6-Pack to the homeland in Massachusetts to showcase these products at the Boston Brewery. The photo says it all!

We invited guests for a night out with Daura Damm at Kanpai Snack Bar, home of the city’s best Taiwanese street food. The event brought awareness to the fact that not only are gluten-friendly options available at some of the top restaurants in Toronto, but so is gluten-friendly beer. Cheers!

To wrap-up the 2016 Estrella Damm Tapas Journey, we flew all 38 chefs from the participating restaurants to Miami to experience the Estrella Damm Gastronomy Congress featuring Jorge Muñoz, Aaron Muliss, Nick Beardshaw and the world’s most awarded chef, Ferran Adria. 38 chefs walk into a gastronomy congress…

5. Mercat del Carmen Opening

Carmen welcomed its newest family member, Mercat del Carmen, to Torontonians in January 2016. The Spanish-style market offers specialty pantry items as well as grab-and-go, authentic, savoury and sweet goods. Not only is Mercat the one-stop shop for fresh tastes of España on Queen Street West, but also the pantry and fridge for Chef Luis Valenzuela’s Carmen. Un Cafe con Leche, por favor!

6. The 6th Annual Yorkville Exotic Car Show

In honour of the 6th Annual Yorkville Exotic Car Show and Father’s Day, Manulife Centre celebrated by treating guests to a sweet, icy treat while they gazed on classic automobiles and futuristic whips. We hope the Bat mobile shows up next year!

From the hustle and bustle of Yonge’s busy street to brunch at Bloor Street Dinner, and even a dip in the pool on the 51st floor, we invited It’s All Style To Me‘s Spiro Mandylor to experience all Yorkville has to offer with 44 Hours at 44 Charles. Donut you want to go to 44 Charles?

8. Prince Edward County Blogger Wine Tour

In anticipation of TASTE Community Grown, Prince Edward County’s annual wine and culinary festival, we brought four Toronto food-savvy bloggers to create buzz for the festivities and to taste what the county has to offer. Voted as one of Canada’s most exciting wine regions by Conde Nast Traveler, it’s just the place for your next staycation!

QMP left the pizza making to the guests with Pizza Libs – Fill In the Blanks To Make the Ultimate Pizza. Teams participated in a hands-on competition where they filled in the blanks on a Pizza Libs sheet to select their toppings. Each group created their pies and presented them to the QMP experts to be judged. The winning team took home swag and Pizzaiolo bragging rights. 10. Baro Launch Street Party

Before Chef Steven Gonzalez hit the road with his food trailer this summer, we threw a Latin street party to reveal his new project, Baro. Media, influencers and food-savvy guests came out to celebrate #GonzalezOnTour and to welcome Baro to the neighbourhood. Awaken your inner Latino on King West as the restaurant is set to open this winter. Stay tuned!
