The Out of Office Diaries: Looking Ahead to a Buzzing Summer

With our Sean returned from his wintery excursion (read more) on the frozen tundras of Lake Winnipeg and the sun having us looking ahead to warmer times, we got to thinking; what adventures are the unique individuals of our team looking forward to this upcoming summer?

Sean & Marian swingin’ into summer!

Sean (President)

For me, summer begins when baseball starts. It doesn’t matter if I’m watching at the Rogers Centre or listening to the game on my radio while firing up the ol’ BBQ, I gotta show support for our Jays in my favourite baseball cap. Plus, let’s not forget watching sunsets on East Lake in the county.

Marian (Vice President)

The best part of summer for me is the time I get to spend outside of the city at our cottage in Prince Edward County. When I’m there, I get to truly kick up my feet, cook outdoors and enjoy quality time with my family and friends, all while surrounded by the wines of the area.

Rock that uke, Aimee!

Aimee Cook (Account Director)

Three words: Trinity Bellwoods & patios! There is nothing that I love more in the summer than hanging out in the park or on a patio with a cold bevvy in hand, music blasting through the speakers while being surrounded by friends. But I’ll do this after I take my dog Millie for a swim, of course! And yes, I’m always rocking that SPF.

Shanley at Brunch Fest!

Shanley (Account Manager)

I’m excited for weekend getaways with my girls to Halifax, Las Vegas and Prince Edward County! I’ll also be practically living at Budweiser Stage for all of the country concerts. Sad to be missing Brunch Fest though!

Mandy (Community Manager)

With iced coffee in hand, I’m looking forward to walking around the city, checking out all the exhibitions going on in our city’s galleries and museums. One of my favourite galleries to visit is the Powerplant – it features up-and-coming contemporary artists. The ROM just introduced free admission every 3rd Monday which I’m very excited to take advantage of.

Pre-game calm before the storm with Casey at BMO!

Casey (Copywriter)

I’ll be taking it easy this summer (heat is not my friend), saving for October (Glasgow!), but I still can’t wait for more games with my TFC crew plus the inaugural Canadian Premier League season with York9 FC, supporter group Generation IX and my pals at The Starting XI Podcast.

Gonna need more Jarritos…

I’m looking forward to soaking up all that the warmer months have to offer. Taking my runs back outside, heading to the beach, drinking sangria on patios, longer evenings, weekends at my family cottage, beautiful sunsets and exploring new places I’ve never been before.

Lisa (Content Creation Intern)

One of my all-time favourite summer activities is hanging out on Toronto’s various beaches. My go-to spot is the beautiful Scarborough Bluffs, it’s a great place to spend a lazy summer day. Another activity I’m looking forward to is hitting the summer festival circuit, North By Northeast (NXNE) in particular.
