With its Mexican-Asian cuisine fusion formed by Kanpai Snack Bar‘s Trevor Lui, Torontonians are invited to stop by for a delicious monthly pop-up featuring Jarritos soda.
Running the last Monday of June and July, La Brea Food’s offerings will include pork bone pozole with ramen, dulce de leche filled churros, wonton tortilla chips with guacamame and much more. There will also be Jarritos-infused cocktails like the refreshing Barrios Chinos, made with wine, tequila and the soda’s lime flavour.
“La Brea actually came before Kanpai Snack Bar, so about 5 years ago when I went to LA. I had spent some time on La Brea Avenue. Walking up and down, what I noticed is that there are a lot of food trucks that took the best of both worlds, particularly Mexican food and Asian food,” explained Lui at the pop-up’s media launch last month.
That night, Lui’s California-inspired cuisine motivated Kanpai’s special guests to create some #SuperGood recipes of their own. Mary of Mary’s Happy Belly soon blended together a recipe for a refreshing Jarritos Lime and Watermelon Slush beverage. (Find the recipe here)
Brigitte Truong put her own #SuperGood spin on the Tequila Sunrise with a 60-second recipe containing only 3 easy ingredients; strawberries, Mezcal and Mandarin Jarritos!
Stop by the La Brea pop-up for your own delicious inspiration.
Kanpai Snack Bar is located at 252 Carlton Street, Toronto.
