Between October 31 and January 7, I traveled across North America, hitting Vancouver, Winnipeg, Chicago, and Florida. Each stop was a mix of work, new connections, and memorable experiences.
This series will cover the highlights from each place, including learning about the alcohol industry in Vancouver, reconnecting with old friends in Winnipeg, eating hot dogs in Chicago, and building a business community in Florida.
First stop: Vancouver. While seafood isn’t my thing, I did get to enjoy something pretty cool—Monday Night Football starting at 5 PM instead of 8. It made the whole evening feel more relaxed. Shout out the great time I had at the Relish pub. Great mix of people, game was on, bartender was west coast friendly.
While I was there, I got a first-hand tour of the retail alcohol space. I learned a lot about the differences and nuances between provinces, which is huge for understanding how brands can successfully navigate the Canadian market. It was a good mix of work and getting a better understanding of how things operate on the West Coast.
