Toronto, ON (December 20, 2019) – Keep the eggnog in the fridge and the mulled wine on the stove, American Spirits are taking over coasters in Canada this season.

Distilled with care for years, bourbon, Tennessee whiskey, rye and newcomer American single malt offer a variety of flavour profiles that will complement anyone’s taste buds, making these your go-to spirits for holiday entertaining.

Offer your guests one of the American Whiskey bevvies below and they’ll leave with a newfound love of all things shaken and stirred. Don’t forget a nightcap for Santa!

Bourbon, made from mash that’s 51% corn, offers notes of caramel, adding yuletide cheer to any glass on the rocks or in traditional cocktails.

1 oz Basil Hayden’s Bourbon
1/4 oz Calvados
1/4 oz Countreau
1 rinse Herbsaint/Absinthe
2 dashes Orange Bitters
1 Orange Zest

Rinse classic coupe glass or martini glass with Herbsaint/Absinthe/Pernod and leave stand. Combine rest of ingredients in stirring glass and stir for about 30 seconds. Strain into coupe and serve straight up with expressed orange oil and zest for garnish.

Tennessee whiskey, will bring a smoothness to any cocktail which comes from the filtering process through charcoal chips that happens right before it goes into the casks for aging.

1 1/2 oz Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7
1/5 oz Simple Syrup
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
1 Dark Cherry
1 Orange Twist

Half-fill a rock glass with cubed ice. Pour Old no. 7 over ice. Add remaining ingredients and stir for 20-30 seconds. Garnish with an orange twist and cherry.

Rye, made from 51% rye grain mash, leans on the drier side and makes for a festive addition to classics like the Manhattan, Sazerac or Whiskey Sour. Give it a try in the recipe below.

1 oz Woodford Reserve Bourbon
1/2 oz Sweet Vermouth
2 dashes Orange Bitters
1 Cherry

Fill cocktail shaker with ice. Add all ingredients and shake for 20-30 seconds. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with cherry.

American single malt, is thoroughly distilled with 100% malted barley in oak barrels, which brings out flavours from not only the wide barley varieties grown across the United states but also the different oak varietals of their barrels as well. Get into the spirit and try this one neat. No recipe required. Simply sip to enjoy!
