Sean Beckingham on The Half A Dozen Hospitality Podcast

A little over 7 years ago, Half a Dozen Hospitality Podcast Host and Global Restaurant Consultant Brad Bodnarchuk met our Sean Beckinhgham with the idea to host a dinner series. This series would coincide with The Great Lobster Cookbook tour with author Matt Dean Pettit and he had wanted to include our agency’s client, Samuel Adams Beer.

Having worked in the foodservice industry since he was 16 years old, Brad’s attention to detail and desire for positive shifts in the community matched Sean’s passion for food and bringing people together; and it all went off without a hitch.

Since then, they’ve followed each other on their culinary business journeys and truly looked to each other for inspiration, insight and, of course, their long-lasting friendship.

Now, listen as our Sean joins Brad on his podcast to discuss food, marketing and being a quality leader from the front of the crowd with creativity in marketing.

Brad:

Are there any tools that you employ working with a client that you have at your disposal now that you didn’t five years ago, one that’s just invaluable to what you’re doing in your business?

Sean:

Yeah, it’s the evolution of [social networks]. The Facebook platform has changed so much, you can manage your entire business on Facebook. We did an event down at Stackt Market in Toronto, a Day of the Dead event, and our partnership included managing all of the PR and marketing. We invested in a Facebook event page, used Facebook partners and didn’t spend a ton of coin on the distribution of that content but created good content with a good funnel, answering “if somebody clicks this, what do we serve them next?”

We ended up with 7,500 people showing up, all from Facebook. When you polled people, they weren’t hearing about it from anything other than Facebook so those tools have really gotten great.
