One Million Views. One Reel. A Lot More Work Than You Think.

One Million Views. One Reel. A Lot More Work Than You Think.

How Branding & Buzzing turns internet inspiration, creative planning and one day of filming into content that keeps working.

One of our recent Instagram Reels for Campbell’s Foodservice Canada hit one million views.

That’s a pretty nice number to see on a Monday morning.

But here’s the interesting part. The Reel was one of several pieces of content we filmed in a single day. It was part of what we call our Funzee content — short, entertaining, trend-inspired videos designed to make people stop scrolling.

And while these videos are meant to look effortless, there’s a surprising amount of work that happens before the camera comes out.

The Fun Starts Before the Shoot

A lot of people think social content starts with someone holding an iPhone and saying, “Let’s try this.”

Sometimes it does. But if you know anything about working with us that’s not how we approach a planned content day.

Our team is constantly looking for interesting ideas. We’re online what people are sharing, what makes us laugh, what catches attention and what brands are doing well.

When we find something interesting, we save it to a shared Google Drive.

It’s our creative inspiration library.

Often we need to spend time for each client looking for content. It doesnt always come from scrolling

But here’s an important distinction: inspiration isn’t plagiarism.

We aren’t looking to copy someone else’s work. We’re looking at why an idea works and how we can take that thinking somewhere new.

Could the concept work with food? Could we make it relevant to a foodservice audience? Could we put our own spin on it?

Sometimes the original inspiration looks nothing like the finished content.

That’s the point.

The Client Gets to See the Ideas Too

Before a shoot, we organize the concepts and share them with the client.

This gives everyone a chance to review the creative direction, flag anything that doesn’t feel right for the brand and identify the ideas they’re most excited about.

It also means we aren’t spending valuable shoot time debating what we’re going to film.

We already know.

The props are planned. The products are selected. The locations are considered. The shots are mapped out.

And yes, sometimes a very silly 10-second video requires a surprising amount of preparation.

One Shoot Day. Lots of Content.

Behind-the-scenes production of Funzee-style social media content for Campbell’s Foodservice Canada by Branding & Buzzing.

For Campbell’s Foodservice Canada, we filmed several Funzee concepts in one day.

That’s one of the biggest advantages of planning ahead.

Instead of organizing a crew, location, products and equipment every time we need a Reel, we batch our production.

We arrive with a plan, move through the concepts and capture as much useful material as possible.

And we don’t just shoot for the first edit.

We think about what else we might need later.

Different angles. Alternate reactions. Extra product shots. A few seconds before and after the action.

Those little extras give our editors options.

One Video Doesn’t Have to Be One Post

This is something we talk about with clients all the time.

Just because we’ve published a Reel doesn’t mean the footage has finished its job.

A single concept might give us:

  • The original Reel with its first hook and edit.
  • A shorter version that gets to the action faster.
  • A different opening to test what catches attention.
  • New on-screen copy for a different audience.
  • An alternative music track or audio treatment.
  • A seasonal version that makes the content relevant again.

Not every video needs six versions. But when we’ve already invested in producing good content, we should think about how to get more value from it.

We want to shoot once and create more opportunities to use the footage.

That’s not about posting the same thing over and over. It’s about giving strong creative ideas more than one chance to connect with an audience.

And Then One of Them Hits a Million Views

One of the Campbell’s Foodservice Funzee Reels reached one million views, with paid media supporting its distribution.

That’s worth celebrating.

But it’s also worth understanding.

We want to know what made people watch, whether they shared it, how paid amplification contributed and what we can learn for the next production.

Because a million views is a great result.

Understanding how we got there is even better.

The Real Work Is Making It Look Easy

There’s a reason we spend time finding ideas, reviewing them with clients, preparing shot lists and thinking about multiple edits before filming.

It’s not because every Reel needs to become a major production.

It’s because a little more thinking up front can make a shoot day more efficient and the content more useful long after the cameras are packed away.

At Branding & Buzzing, we believe entertaining content and thoughtful planning belong together.

Sometimes the end result is a polished food photograph. Sometimes it’s a clever 10-second video that makes someone laugh.

And sometimes that little video reaches a million views.

Not bad for a day’s filming.
