The weather is getting cooler outside but it’s clear skies and hot schedules for Plutino Food and Drink’s chef roster.

Fromage foodies and lovers of pumpkin spice will be excited as local cheese master Afrim Pristine is heading to the Ottawa Wine and Food Festival November 4-6th to debut “The Senator,” his newly developed creation of pumpkin spice cheese.

“I’m really pumped and looking forward to bringing a mini cheese boutique to the Ottawa Wine and Food Festival,” commented Pristine, “it’s a huge undertaking but we are ready to dazzle our nation’s capital with the world’s best cheese. I actually haven’t been to Ottawa since grade 9, over 20 years ago, so I’m going to make this one count. Bring on the cheese and bring on the ruckus.”

Meanwhile, MasterChef Canada judge Claudio Aprile will be appearing at St. Lawrence Market’s “Evening at the Market” on November 10th for mingling and multiple cooking demonstrations. The evening also includes aerial circus performances, food sculptures, plus djs, jazz music, a few unannounced surprises, all with the proceeds going to Second Harvest, Canada’s largest fresh food rescue program.

“Whether it is a weekend shop with the family or a hunt for something unique for the restaurant, the St. Lawrence Market has played a pivotal role in all aspects of my life. I am so proud to be a part of this amazing event!” says Aprile.

Also this month, lobster major Matt Dean Pettit will be representing Ocean Wise at the Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc Influencer Dinner where he will be discussing Ocean Wise’s new Whitehaven partnership and their plans for promoting seafood sustainability. Guests will be shown tutorials by Matt himself and can then don their own aprons to join in on some seafood serving fun.

“Teaching people exciting, delicious ways to use responsibly produced or harvested products is paramount to the future of the world. I couldn’t think of better partners than Whitehaven and Ocean Wise to help spread the word,” added Pettit.

On the west coast, Ocean Wise Ambassador Ned Bell will be judging this year’s Chowder Chowdown at the Vancouver Aquariuam while Bob Blumer will be on his way to the east coast to intermingle with industry icons at Devour!, Nova Scotia’s Food Film Festival.

We look forward to seeing what the festive season brings forward.
