The Olympics may be over, but Canadian pride lives on.

Our client, Toronto Eaton Centre, partnered with official Olympic Network of the Sochi 2014 Winter Games, CBC Olympics, to create viewing lounges that allowed guests to stay up-to-date and cheer on the Canadian athletes.

During these two weeks, the Branding & Buzzing team captured moments of Canadian pride and shared them on TEC’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. As the first campaign for the Instagram account, B&B maximized all opportunities to cross-promote through the different Social Media communities.

What better way to kick off a campaign than to go #ToTheCity and celebrate the success of our fellow Canadians?

Guests who showcased Olympic pride and stopped by the CBC Olympics Winter Games Viewing Lounge were asked to take a photo with a board (with a choice of either a hashtag or sport) and were encouraged to share it on their personal Social Media communities.

Participants were also given a Tweet Card that included TEC’s handles and official hashtag #ToTheCity. This leveraged B&B’s ability to grow TEC’s Instagram following exponentially and generate many “Likes”.
